Stephen Hoyle – Full circle journey to join Eikon Sports Group as first ever Lead Intermediary in Oceania

December 2018 was the first time I spoke with Steve. From there began the process of getting him signed to Valour FC as their first-ever international signing. More symbolic than that though, Steve became my first ever client when he signed with me as an independent agent. This was well before the days of Eikon Sports Group. I was brand new to the industry and Steve gave me that trust and confidence that I think led me to launch Eikon Sports Group and grow it to where it is today. It’s a fulfilling feeling to now have Steve joining the team and opening an entirely new sector for the agency in Oceania, a market he knows better than anyone. Adding Steve also gives our clients an edge, especially the younger players that will lean on his experiences of travelling across the world at the age of 19 for a dream in football, that he nicely transitioned into a lifestyle. – Joshua Carabatsakis, Founder and Licensed Intermediary

Stephen Hoyle joins Eikon where he will be largely tasked with expanding the company’s operations in New Zealand and Australia. Hoyle left for New Zealand from the UK over 10-years-ago and quickly immersed himself in the growing football culture of the country. In all, he’s played over 100 matches of Premiership football in New Zealand and did so productively, scoring 44 goals. Steve knows firsthand what it means as a footballer to use performances in one league to launchpad your career in a different country altogether. His success in New Zealand allowed him to get a taste of professional football in North America when he signed with Valour FC and scored the club’s first-ever goal in the Canadian Premier League.  His time in New Zealand and Australia has given him an appreciation for the depth of talent in the region. This addition enables Eikon Sports Group to provide an even more well-rounded, global, management approach for its clients and will create new pipelines, pathways, and networks to export import talent between our 3 pillars: North America, Europe, and Oceania.
