Jeannot Esua was formed in Rainbow FC Bamenda in Cameroon as a young player. He eventually left the club in 2017 to join USL Championship side, Orange County SC. Despite joining the club late, he played a big role in the team with 12 appearances and 11 starts as a right-back and right midfielder during the 2017 season. Fast forward to 2019 and Jeannot Esua joined Canadian Premier League side, FC Edmonton. This was Esua’s breakthrough season, at just 23 years old he was named the Player of the Year for FC Edmonton and played in 23 matches. In three full seasons with FC Edmonton, Jeannot played 50 matches with consistent performances that led to him being considered one of the best wingbacks in the CPL. Esua made the move over to Europe signing with PEPO Lappeenranta of the Finnish Ykkonen. Through the 2022 Ykkonen season, Esua has created a lot of buzz, rating as the top right-back in the country’s 2nd tier and sitting near the top of the league in statistical categories such as accurate crosses, expected assist and tackle win percentage. He backed that up in 2023 with Ekenas IF where he  helped earn them promotion and was named top defender in the Ykkonen. Esua signed a contract with Galway United of the Irish Premier League for the 2024 season.
