Sukunda spent two years in the Auxerre youth system before moving closer to home to spend 3 more years with the FC Montreal in the USL. After making his pro debut with FC Montreal, he has spent time playing in Sweden and Australia before returning to Canada to play with HFX Wanderers in the inaugural CPL season, where he made history as the club’s first-ever signing. Sukunda ventured to Finland for the 2020 season where he joined 2nd Tier club, Ekenas IF of the Ykkonen. On the year he would contribute a goal and an assist across 24 matches and 1753 minutes in all competitions. Zach also reached an amazing milestone playing in his 100th professional match at just 25 years old. In the 2021 season, Sukunda joined PEPO who have just fallen short of promotion to the Ykkonen. On the season, Sukunda has been a top player for the club, featuring in 98% of available minutes and contributing 3 goals and 4 assists across 18 matches, playing more often as a central mid-fielder and inverted winger. Zach transfered to IF Gnistan  for the 2023 season where they fell 1 point short of promotion. Following the season Zach signed a 2-year contract with Valour FC to return to the CPL.
